Sagar Chudesara

National Bestselling Author & Storyteller

He didn't study creative writing. He didn't have a publisher waiting. He had four handwritten diaries, a story that refused to die, and friends who believed in it before anyone else did. Today, his debut novel has sold over 2,00,000 copies — making it one of India's most-loved friendship stories.

THE STORY

02 · The Story · From failure to 2,00,000 copies

He Didn't Plan To Be A Writer

Sagar Chudesara wasn't born into a family of writers. There were no bookshelves lined with literary classics, no creative writing workshops, no MFA degree. He was a regular college student in Gujarat who had failed — multiple times — and didn't know what to do with himself.

In 2015, during one of his lowest points, he started writing — not for publication, not for fame, but because the stories in his head had nowhere else to go. Sitting on terraces, riding trains, drifting through road trips across India, he filled four handwritten diaries with the raw, unfiltered story of friendship that would eventually become We Are There For Each Other.

"Without destruction, there is no creation. You can't build a new tower without demolishing the old structure that had cracks all over it."

He wrote two complete drafts. Both were scrapped. The story kept evolving, refusing to settle into its final form. In 2018, his friend Mansi Patel took on the impossible task of typing the entire manuscript from his handwritten notebooks — four diaries of messy handwriting turned into something a publisher could read.

In 2020, the book was finally published by Paper Publication. The first print run sold out. Readers started sharing it across Instagram and WhatsApp — not because of marketing campaigns, but because the story felt personal. It felt like theirs.

"We all search for just one friend with whom we can simply be who we are. Harsh was that person for Sagar."

By 2025, the store went live — bringing the book directly to readers. And by 2026, Sagar's debut novel had crossed 2,00,000 copies sold, earning its place as one of India's most-loved friendship stories. The boy who failed in college became a national bestselling author — not through connections or luck, but through a story too honest to ignore.

What He Writes About · Themes that define his work

01

Authentic Friendships

Stories about the friends who stay — on terraces, in chai stalls, through the mess of growing up. The kind of bonds that don't need a reason to exist.

02

Emotional Resilience

Writing about failure, heartbreak, and the quiet strength it takes to start over. Not motivational — honest. The kind of truth that sits with you.

03

Second Chances

Every character in Sagar's world gets a second shot — at love, at purpose, at themselves. Because real life doesn't end at the first failure.

Let's Stay Connected

Every reader who reaches out, every DM that says "your book made me call my best friend" — that's why I write. I didn't write this book to be on a bestseller list. I wrote it because the story was too real to keep in a diary. If it moved you, tell me. If it reminded you of someone, tell them. That's all I'll ever ask.

— Sagar Chudesara

P.S. — If this book reminded you of someone, send it to them. That's how every copy has traveled so far — one friend at a time.
